With more than 25 years of experience, Gregory, who is also a Certified Public Accountant, has an extensive background in providing legal counsel related to estate planning, real estate and business transactions, trusts and estates. He has written several articles relevant to planning for disability and death, management and transfer of property, trust and asset protection alternative, the probate process and more.

A partner at Coffey & McCracken law firm in Edwardsville, Gregory and his team joined MM&R in 2011 following a merger that combined the talents of some of the most respected attorneys in southern Illinois. Gregory is a dedicated, capable professional who is admired by his peers as a leader in the legal industry. He practices from MM&R’s Edwardsville office, serving individuals and businesses throughout southern Illinois.

Gregory is a member of the Estate Planning Council of St. Louis, Illinois State Bar Association, Missouri Bar Association, Madison County Bar Association and the Illinois Certified Public Accountant Society. In 1999, he served on the Planning Committee for the 42nd Annual Estate Planning Short Course for the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education.

Gregory has a long history of community service and currently serves or has served on the governing boards or in other capacities for the following non-profit organizations: Anderson Hospital, City of Edwardsville Plan Commission, EGHM School District #7 Foundation, Greater Edwardsville Area Community Foundation, I-55 Corridor Development Project Team, Rotary Club of Edwardsville, United Way – Southwest Illinois Division, and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Foundation. Gregory is also a director of Madison Mutual Insurance Company and Maryville Physicians’ Services, LLC.

Education

Gregory holds a BS in Accountancy from the College of Commerce and Business Administration at University of Illinois, Urbana, Illinois in 1982. He received his J.D. (cum laude) in 1985 from Northern Illinois University College of Law, DeKalb, Illinois.
