Deanna L. Litzenburg is a shareholder with Mathis, Marifian & Richter (MM&R), who focuses her practice in civil litigation, commercial litigation, premises liability, medical malpractice, employment law, creditors’ rights, workers’ compensation and alternative dispute resolution.

Deanna has experience in providing quality and personalized representation to people and businesses in Southern Illinois. She has represented a wide variety of clients, including individuals, hospitals, health-care providers, businesses and national and international product manufacturers. She has represented both individuals and businesses in proceedings before the appellate court, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission.

Before joining MM&R, Deanna worked for a large St. Louis-based law firm. She is a certified mediator and has lectured on workers’ compensation issues before employers and fellow attorneys. In June 2007, Deanna spoke for the National Business Institute at its “Advanced Workers’ Compensation” seminar in Fairview Heights, Illinois. She presented two chapters at the seminar: “Selected Issues in Workers’ Compensation” and “The Illinois Insurance Guaranty Fund.”

Professional Affiliations

Deanna is a member of the American Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, The Missouri Bar and the St. Clair County Bar Association. She is also a member of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis.

Community Involvement

Deanna is active in her local community.  She is currently secretary of the Highland Quarterback Club and serves on the education committee at her church in Highland, IL.  She also serves as financial secretary of her church. 

In the past, she served on the Board of Directors for the Girl Scouts of Shagbark Council.  Deanna is also a graduate and supporter of Leadership Belleville, an executive leadership program sponsored by the Greater Belleville Chamber of Commerce.

Deanna received a BA magna cum laude in Political Science and Philosophy from Southeast Missouri State University in 1995. She received a JD cum laude from Southern Illinois University School of Law in 1999.
