LOCAL LAWYER LORRAINE CAVATAIO ELECTED SECRETARY OF IICLE

Fairview Heights, Ill., Jan. 17, 2012 . . .Belleville lawyer Lorraine Cavataio, shareholder at Mathis, Marifian & Richter, Ltd. (www.mmrltd.com), was recently elected secretary of the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education (IICLE®). IICLE® is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to supporting the professional development of Illinois attorneys through Illinois-focused practice guidance. IICLE® is governed by a 16-member Board of Directors composed of Illinois lawyers and judges and is managed by a professional staff in Springfield and Chicago.

Cavataio, who focuses her practice on estate planning, business law, real estate and probate, has more than 10 years of experience representing a wide range of clients in matters involving mergers and acquisitions, contracts, commercial and residential leasing, trusts and wills, estate and trust administration and tortious interference.

In addition to being a long-time member of IICLE®, Cavataio’s other professional affiliations include the American Bar Association, Missouri Bar Association, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society (ICPAS). She also serves in the Probate Section of the Illinois State Bar Association.

Cavataio’s community involvement includes having served as President of the St. Clair County (West) Rotary Club District 6510; board member of the St. Clair County Rotary Foundation; and member of the Greater Belleville Chamber of Commerce since 2000, where she chaired the Government Affairs Committee and the Quality of Life Subcommittee. She has also served as a board member for both the Meredith Memorial Home and March of Dimes. She is the secretary for Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois and serves as President of the St. Teresa's School board.
