Art Gallery

Our commitment to the local art scene is evident throughout all of our offices which feature a diverse display of paintings, sculptures, glassware and other works of art. We love to showcase the varied talents of local, regional and national artists. Many of these pieces have been purchased at Belleville’s annual Art on the Square festival, the St. Louis Artists’ Guild, Edwardsville Art Fair and from local artists.

For many years, we have offered artists the opportunity to exhibit their work in our Belleville and Edwardsville offices’ art galleries. We display select artists’ pieces for the community to enjoy and purchase. Past artists who have received exposure from our gallery include students from SWIC, SIUE and Lindenwood as well as members of the Gateway East Artist Guild and Edwardsville Arts Center.

“We know how hard artists work to perfect their projects,” says George Marifian, a founding shareholder at MM&R. “It’s our pleasure to provide these talented individuals with a place where they can proudly display their creations for the public to appreciate.”

Belleville’s Art on the Square

Our firm has always embraced opportunities to broaden art education in our communities. We’re a huge supporter of Art on the Square, one of the nation’s premier art fairs which takes place each May right outside of our Belleville office. In 2011, we began sponsoring the High School Sculpture in the City program, which was created by Art on the Square to support art education and help beautify the city’s landscape with unique art sculptures.

Under the guidance of a different renowned artist each year, students from the four Belleville high schools learn the creative, hands-on process of designing and building sculpture pieces. In the program’s first four years, several hundred student participants from Althoff Catholic, Belleville East, Belleville West and Governor French Academy created sculptures that became permanent pieces on their schools’ campuses.

“We are so proud to help provide such a unique experience for local students,” says Pat Mathis, a shareholder of MM&R. “It’s amazing to see the enthusiasm and creativity they put into these projects. It’s a great lesson for them to see how their hard work can become something that hundreds of people in the city can enjoy.”

Edwardsville Arts Center

Our dedication to art appreciation and education extends beyond the City of Belleville. As a leading sponsor of the Edwardsville Art Fair and Exhibit sponsor, we help make it possible for the Center to share the wonderful work of artists throughout the year.

The annual Art Fair features the original works of approximately 100 accomplished artists. The Create IT and Take IT art program is also a highlight of the weekend, where kids can create their own take-away projects at no cost to them. After a panel of judges selects the winner at the Edwardsville Art Fair Celebration, MM&R shareholders enjoy the honor of congratulating them.

The exhibits that the Edwardsville Arts Center hosts throughout the year showcase local artists’ and students’ work year-round. With eight yearly exhibits, we are proud to support the talented artists who display their work and the Edwardsville Arts Center’s continuous efforts to bring art into the community.
